SERVICES FOR FAMILIES

  • We are able to visit our clients’ homes for both the assessment and therapy process, not only for your convenience but to allow us to work with your child in their natural setting. Alternatively, Deborah is able to see clients at Spire London East Hospital, Redbridge (additional fee applies)
  • We are able to visit clients in their school or nursery setting, if they permit this
  • We use both formal and informal assessments to understand your child’s speech, language and/or communication difficulty. Our assessments and therapy techniques are play-based for younger children to keep them motivated
  • Initial assessments take about an hour and include taking a detailed case history, collecting required data and informing you of our findings. Most initial assessments include a report summarising the findings and recommendations to carry out with your child
  • The decision to carry out therapy will depend on severity of your child’s difficulty and whether they are ready and motivated for therapy. Every child’s speech, language and communication needs are unique and so, if therapy is suitable, intervention will be tailored to his/her specific requirements
  • Depending on the needs of the child therapy may take the form of twice weekly, weekly, fortnightly or monthly sessions and will include carryover work to be completed at home or school between visits. Therapy can also take the form of an individualised home/school programme, carried out by the parents or school staff and supervised and updated by the therapist as appropriate
  • As younger, dynamic therapists we are able to provide fun, innovative and up-to-date therapy
  • We also offer autism assessments

Aims of Our Service

  • To offer professional, experienced and specialist assessment, therapy and management of communication difficulties
  • To ensure therapy is tailored to each individual to increase effective learning and acquisition of new skills

  • To complete assessments/therapies either in the comfort of your own home or at Spire London East Hospital, Redbridge
  • To share knowledge and expertise with you
  • To provide fund and motivating therapy sessions that will allow our clients to make the most progress
